Updates

This blog is almost collecting dust. Initially wanted to post some pictures from my last holidays trip, but I still couldn’t find the time to do so. :|

Anyway, it’s been a busy month. When will work ever end! Well, there’re still several school matters to settle, and I hope to be able to tie up the loose ends soon.

Oh yah, if any students from 2G or 2D happen to hop past this blog, I just want to relay a message to you: Don’t be too upset or disappointed over the Math test if you’ve not done well. At this point of time, it is not the results that matter, but how much you can learn from the failure. It’s really still the beginning, and things will definitely turn out better as long as you continue to work hard! 加油! :)

On a lighter note, tomorrow’s mid-week, which means the weekend is approaching.. hope all lessons and plans will turn out smoothly for the rest of the week!

แอ๊บ!จะได้เจอกันแล้วนะ!! ^^

I’m Back Again!

After a week in Chiang Rai, it was one more week in Genting. St Nics Band went there for a competition and achieved a Gold award (Top 3)! :) Anyway, I’m really relieved to be back home and rest. Long road journeys aren’t fun. :|

For the girls who want to view pics from the Chiang Rai trip, I’ve uploaded some small-sized pics here.

It was hard work loosening the soil, but the girls did a great job overall! :)

Farmer wannabes. Haha, sorry, Jolene. Pity I didn’t manage to capture the whole frame.

All the pics were taken using my digital rangefinder. Those taken by Miss Dawn Lim using the 450D are not uploaded yet. I may burn a CD or 2 of the pics in larger resolutions to circulate among those who want them, when school reopens. ;)

This is one of my last captures during the CIP trip with St Nics. Well, I’m missing you guys. It’s a shame the political crisis in Bangkok could hinder my trip to Thailand soon. But, I’ll definitely be back to see you lovely children in Wiang Kaen soon again. Cheers. :)

I’m Back!

The last day at Wiang Kaen

After 6 days of overseas CIP with the students, I’m finally back! It was such a fun and enriching experience over there, working in the farms as well as spending time with the children at the Catholic Mission Home of Wiang Kaen. Here are some previous entries (1, 2) from my previous trips there.

As much as I would like to post-process my pictures quickly, I won’t have time to do them so soon. So I’d just put up 3 group photos for you girls to download (all 3 are unedited, full-sized pics). It is a pity we didn’t have a pic with all the children at the home. :(

Hope the wonderful experience and memories from this trip will always be in our hearts! ;)

My Favourite Hangout..

..as far as marking assignments and doing other school-related work is concerned.

And so I was there again today to plan my work for next year.

Ok, that’s just half the truth. I would never fail to indulge myself with a cup of Cocoa Mocha Addiction and Potato Chunks, and grab a couple of magazines (just in case I get bored with all the marking) before settling down at one of those tables at the library cafe.

I find the ambiance there relaxing enough to enjoy doing my work, yet not too comfortable to fall asleep (which is the reason why I prefer to work here instead of at home). Occasionally, I’ll get to see different groups of famous blue "pinaforists" wandering in the library. Of those who’d recognised me before, some were indifferent and others felt a shock first and then ended up with an unstoppable dose of giggles. Very interesting reactions. A few ever said hi or waved to me. I guess that’s just an integral part of a teacher’s life.

I guess I won’t be able to frequent this place as much as I wanted to in the coming year. I hope the price of my potato chunks don’t increase yet again when I visit there in future.

No More Marking!

Yes, it’s come to the time of the year when I’ve finally finished all the marking of exam scripts. One wave of invigilation has passed, and awaiting for the next round of (O-levels) invigilation to come.

Time has indeed passed very quickly, and the school term will be ending in a weeks’ time. (Of course, that’s for the Sec 1s to 3s. Sec 4s’ got Os to conquer, and the teachers still have to work as usual.) The next thing I’m looking forward to is bringing the girls to Chiang Rai for CIP. :)

Anyway, I did a run with Boon Thong again this evening. After I mapped out my run, it was a little disappointing that we covered a distance less than the initial target of 7 km. Nevertheless, the run was a good work-out and a prelude to my upcoming Real Run this coming Sunday.

Ok, off to watch TV and cook a packet of Tom Yum noodles to eat! Haha :D

2 Loyalty

It’s been a few hectic weeks since school reopened. I’ve been particularly happy with my form class.

Although I didn’t voice out my observations, I just felt the urge to write here, that I was very pleasantly surprised at the amount of effort everyone has put in for the Indian Dance. A handful initiated to choreograph the dance (as early as during the June holidays), while the rest of the class learned the dance steps from the ‘leaders’ eagerly. It was a great pleasure to see this class practise their dance filled with joy and laughter. Through this, I could see how closely bonded and driven they are as a class.

2L, I’m looking forward to watch your performance this coming Thursday. Don’t get nervous, just enjoy it like you always did during the practices, and I’m sure you’ll rock the Drama Studio down! :D

The Past Week

Yay, I’ve just done a 5 km, and feeling great now!

It’s been more than a week since I last ran, because I was down with a big flu and a nasty sore throat. Staying back in school late everyday the past week and handling the background work for the Open House didn’t help either. Everything turned for the better immediately after Open House ended. Had a fun Wii + card game session at friend’s house on Sat night, and went town to purchase a DVD for my CME lesson yesterday. ;)

Hopefully, I’ll be able to continue my routine jogs and restart my swim sessions in the weeks to come.

And I’m so looking forward to the coming long weekend! Privilege of teachers.. able to enjoy Youth Day even when we’re not that young anymore. emoticon

จะเจออีกนะแอ๊บ! ^^

2 Loyalty

I realised I didn’t really blogged about my form class since the beginning of the year. Well, as the term is coming to a close, I would like to show my appreciation by thanking everyone in 2 Loyalty for being such sweet and motivated students.

The monitors and subject leaders have been doing an exceptionally good job, performing above my own expectations. You’ve learnt, understood and carried out "selflessness and "taking initiative".  The rest of the members of the class have also been playing their roles and responsibilities well. Because of everyone of you, everything has been able to run smoothly with minimal supervision and worry from the teachers.

Because of you gals, Mdm Goh and I had an easy time being your form and co-form. I certainly hope that everyone can maintain this good standard, and continue to enjoy (instead of having to endure) the remaining school year! :)

Ok.. Update..

Oh yea, haven’t been blogging for a long time. It’s been a busy week with little sleep.

Let’s see..last Friday late night (eve of fiesta), I decided to do 75 rounds on track for the "longest distance". The first 50 rounds were ok, I didn’t stop running. However, mental strength wasn’t strong enough after that, and I started walking. That was really a bad idea, because from then on, I kept suffering from calf cramps on and off. Fortunately, some of my students decided to join the walk/run routine with me, and that really made the remaining rounds much less monotonous. Thanks, girls. I’m really grateful. Owe you people 75 pizzas. haha. Phew, started the run nearing 12am, and ended at almost 4am.

So, I was practically sleep-walking for the whole of Saturday. Kudos to all the girls who ran in the unearthly hours and were still able to keep up with running of the games and food stalls! Oh, the Maze was a good one! Gd effort, $5 well-spent. ;) And I bought 2 Bubble Tea to support my class. Hey, it was nice.. and the colour wasn’t all that bad. Hehe.

And at 3pm SHARP, I was to go to the basketball court to get dunked. -.- 1 Truth said they put up the video on their blog, which I have no clue what the url is.

Raeann: The water wasn’t refreshing. @@

Haha, actually quite fun falling into the container. Especially when you thought the opponent had missed all her 3 tries and you’re safe. And then she used her bare hand to push that lever to make you drop into the water anyway. MISS LIN KAILI!! emoticon

So, that was for fiesta. Nothing else that’s interesting enough to blog for now. :P Byee!

P.S. Oh! I’ve completed my 2nd portrait drawing. It’s really hard to draw hair that looks realistic. emoticon Any drawing expert can give me some tips? ^^

Define Density

Qn: Define density.

Ans: Density is how dense an object is.

Witty attempt. Hehe. Got me reminded of myself scribbling anything that I could think of during my secondary school tests/exams in a desperate attempt to score points. I never succeeded.
