For Someone.

Another week has passed by, and it’s finally weekend again. Unfortunately, I’ve fallen sick and I don’t think I can enjoy the next two days very much. Went to see the doctor in the evening to get some medicine, and hopefully they can create miracles to help me recover before Monday comes.

Anyway, I had been reviewing my "favourite" youtube clips the past 20 minutes, and I happened to watch a couple of the Korean MVs that I’ve saved last time. I wonder how Koreans are so good at creating these tear-jerking videos (not that I cried) such that they will touch your heart in just that few minutes of music.

Just want to share these 2 clips (that I personally like quite a lot) with you people.  

It’s the 2nd day of Chinese New Year. Somehow this CNY is very different from the past, because I didn’t go visiting my relatives at all.

After a 2-hr nap and watching one episode of 1 Litre of Tears, I thought of a friend who had left this world 7 years ago.  A close friend whom I regarded as an elder sister, who helped me a lot when I needed encouragement and support during my secondary school years.

So, with such gloomy mood, I spent the evening composing a simple tune for this special friend, someone that I’ve been missing so much.

We used to talk

We were best of friends
I thought that’s how it would always be

For the past 2 days, I’ve been searching for Korean mtvs to watch on youtube. The way Koreans shoot their mtvs is so unique, such that they look like several scenes from a movie pieced together (although the scenes are only solely made for the mtvs). 9 out of 10 sad Korean mtvs involve a car accident in the ending. As much as such scenes have become a cliche in their mtvs, I’ve never failed to feel sad at the end of the songs.

Here’s one mtv that I think is quite nice. Enjoy watching.

Anyone knows or has this song? I want it!!!

Music has always been a part of my life. Since I was young, I had an interest in playing the keyboard. I think it was during kindergarten when my dad bought me a mini-keyboard not longer than 10 inches, and it became my constant companion. After much pleading through the subsequent years, my parents finally agreed to let me take up piano lessons (in pri 3).

Although I slowly lost interest after learning for 4-5 years, I still enjoy playing non-classical pieces (usually english pop songs). Being a lazy person, I hate (to the power of 5) reading scores! And so I started to learn the skill of improvisation (read "avoiding reading scores").

It was not only after I finished my A levels when I finally tried to "compose" my own original piano piece. Nothing great, but it was quite fun writing scores and brainstorming on how to get the tune to sound nice. Since then, I’ve like completed around 10 short pieces (yeah, really short.. around 3-4 minutes per piece), but unfortunately didn’t have the time to continue my passion since I started working.

Well, I hope I will be able to find time soon, to rekindle my passion for writing simple pieces and playing them. Holidays, when will you come?

Anyway, here’s a piece that I’ve done somewhere in mid 2003. It’s still untitled.. anyone has any suggestion how I should name it?
