A Morning at Little India

I went to Little India with Boon Thong today. Purpose? For a walk-about photo shoot. This is a place that I have been going every year since I started teaching in SNGS. However, I never had the chance to wander around at my own pace and explore any photography opportunities because there’s always the responsibility of looking after my students.

So I’ve decided to visit this place today, hoping to get some street portraits as well as abstract shots. Below are some of the photos. :)

A fruit and vegetable stall that accepts NETS.

Mum waiting, while child looks on.

A tourist receiving henna-painting.

The Indian lady skilfully painted the henna onto her customer’s wrist.

Stall selling Indian snacks.

And now, moving on to some abstracts…

Porcelains.

Bangles.

Shawls.

Little containers. Jewellery boxes, maybe?

Colourful bangles.

They come in dozens packed together.

Candles in various shapes.

Postcards and greeting cards.

Tomatoes.

Cloth for making Indian costumes.

Colourful watches.

Indian accessories.

Liquor.

Where else could you find a place in Singapore that’s more colourful than Little India? I hope I’ve portrayed the vibrant colours of this little town through the lens.

Well, that’s all for this series. Hope you’ve enjoyed viewing! ;)
