Dragon and Damsels

After one year plus of not taking macro photography, I’m picking it up again.. not with a prosumer camera, but a DSLR. The challenges are very much different, as I now need to look through the peephole (fine.. viewfinder) of my camera instead of using the LCD screen. Most of the time when capturing dragonfly and damselfly shots, I was kneeling on the ground. And I disturbed some red ants a couple of times and got bitten all over my body as a result.

Nevertheless, I’ve managed to get some okay shots.. so here they are.. enjoy! :)

(This pair is mating! Can you see the heart-shape formed by their bodies?)

(A closer look: The female (right) has her genital aperture in contact with the male’s reproductive organs.)

(Okay, this is the odd one out. A stinkbug that I spotted before rain started pouring down.)
